Activities - Walking


Walking isn’t just good exercise; it’s convenient, is free to participate, you can burn a few calories, spend time in nature, become more mindful of God’s great creation and get to know what makes your fellow walkers tick.
Some of us at Mottram Evangelical Church walk (just a local, couple of hours) most weeks.
We’re never going to achieve ‘extreme’ status. Come rain or shine (and we get a fair share of both) we just enjoy it.
We also organise walks at weekends for larger groups that may take all day and take us out of our own backyard.
In 2011 we mixed walks close to Mottram (Harrop Edge, Rowarth and Cown Edge) with jaunts further from home (Wetton and Dovestones Valley).

Spring Walk
Date: Saturday 25 February 2012
Where: Combining parts of the Longdendale Trail and the Etherow-Goyt Valley Way
Start and finish: Mottram Evangelical Church at 10.30am
How long: Less than 10 miles (martyn’numbertwo’ miles that is)
How long: anywhere around or about (could be) 4 – 5 hours
Food: Soup-stop half way round at Bob and Janet Dentith’s
Conditions: Could be a muddy so be prepared
